CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND CASE VIGNETTES

IMPORTANT DATE:

November 11, 2024 – Deadline for Abstract Submissions

 

ABOUT

The Northern California Society for Clinical Gastroenterology (NCSCG) invites the submission of abstracts and case vignettes describing clinical, basic science, and/or psychosocial research in the fields of endoscopy, gastroenterology, gastrointestinal surgery and hepatology.  Our goal is to promote research among trainees in the field, stimulate collaboration and foster the development of ideas for future studies. 

 

Authors may submit abstracts and case vignettes of completed work, work in progress, quality improvement research or work presented elsewhere within the past 12 months.  All abstracts and cases will be peer reviewed, and all that meet the specifications below will be selected for poster presentation.  

​Those chosen will have the chance to share their findings, receive recognition through their research and meet other professionals in the field.

There is a visa gift card award and additional recognition for the top placements!

 

WHO SHOULD SUBMIT?

  • Postgraduate trainees at all levels – including residents, fellows and advanced fellows  are invited to submit abstracts and case vignettes.  We also welcome submissions from faculty members and practicing physicians.

DEADLINE

The deadline for receipt of abstracts and case vignettes is 11:59 PM PT on November 11, 2024.  All submitting authors will receive confirmation of their abstract submission via email.

 

ABSTRACT FORMATTING

All abstracts should be formatted the following way:

 

  • One page

  • Typed in 12-point Times New Roman font

  • Single-spaced with one-inch margins, and left justified. 

  • Organize the abstract into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. 

  • Define all abbreviations. 

  • Include the abstract title, full names and institutional affiliations of all authors, and email address of the corresponding author at the top of the abstract.  Underline the name of the presenting author.  

  • Abstracts must not contain copyrighted material unless permission has been obtained by the author. 

  • Indicate at the bottom of the page if the abstract has been presented elsewhere and at what meeting. 

CASE VIGNETTE FORMATTING

All case vignettes should be formatted the following way:

  • Introduction

  • Case description

  • Discussion

 

Please take note that submitted abstracts that do not meet the above specifications will be returned.

 

NOTIFICATION OF STATUS

Notification of acceptance for poster presentation will be acknowledged via email by December 6, 2025. Notices and instructions will be sent to the email address provided at the time of abstract submission. ​​​
